My journey as a coach began rather ceremoniously.
I was invited to attend an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Brisbane Chapter event in Stones Corner, Brisbane. The year was 2010 and Natalie Ashdown was launching her book, "Bring Out their Best".
Coaching was new to me so I purchased my book there and then, keen to learn all I could. My personally autographed copy sits beside me now - a prized possession to which I regularly refer for guidance and inspiration.
Within the next 12 months I attained my Certificate IV in Workplace and Business Coaching and coaching has become, not just part of my work, or my life, coaching has become part of me. It has changed me inexplicably, gradually, completely.
I am a better person because I ask first and I keep asking, thank you to Lindsay Tighe (Inspirational Coaching) for teaching me that the questions will determine the answer. I know for sure that in most instances the person I am speaking to (coaching), knows their truth, their options, their answer, they know what they need to do - all I do is help them bring those out.
Coaching is just another wonderful way to have a conversation, to empower and engage with others - to help them find dreams, goals and hopes they'd dared not aim for before.
Having delivered the Cert IV WBC and Frontline Management many times, numerous coaching workshops, as well as provinding individual, group and mentor coaching for the past 4 years and I learn something new every single time.
It has been my good fortune and an absolute gift to have worked with some amazing coaches over the past 4 years: Jane Anderson (INsideOut Coaching), Stacy Ashley (Ashley Consulting) and of course Natalie Ashdown (The Open Door Coaching Group). I've learnt so much from these amazing coaches and look forward to working with them again in the future.
That's why I call this my coaching journey - the journey really has only just begun.
I am an accredited Associate Certified Coach ACC through the International Coaching FederationICF and Associate Professional Coach through ANZIC. If you would like to learn more I have added some resources on this site for you, or feel free to contact me to arrange a telephone appointment to discuss how I can help you wherever you are on your journey.
Yours in coaching
